The Assertor-class star dreadnought was a sister design to the larger and better known Executor-class. It was developed in tandem with the larger warship design and was intended as a relatively cheaper alternative to the powerful super star destroyer and its sister ships. The hull design was reminiscent of the Executor-class fused with a superstructure design taken from the smaller Mandator and Bellator classes. The design was changed during the final stages of construction following the advent of the Rebel Alliance's new allies the Mon Calamari and their powerful star cruisers. These warships were able to match Imperial I-class star destroyers and could even combat the newer Imperial II-class. To make matters embarrassingly worse for the Imperial High Command, these new ships could outrun the powerful Executor and out maneuver and had better acceleration than the standard star destroyers and battle cruisers of the Imperial Navy. To counter this the Assertor-class was hastily redesigned with double the number of engines as the Executor-class. This new engine layout increased the class' acceleration and top speed dramatically, making it nearly as fast as Imperial-class star destroyers, thus enabling them to engage the Mon Cal star cruisers far more effectively than their larger sisters. Like the larger Executors the Assertors were limited in their production with only a handful of warships in the class built during the course of its service history. The best known vessel in the class was the Wrath which was responsible for multiple Base Delta Zero missions in its career, making it nearly as infamous as the Executor itself. As the Empire declined and fragmented Assertors became increasingly rare and possession of one of these powerful warships was considered highly prestigious by Imperial warlords and other Imperial factions. Until the advent of the New Republic's star defenders the only warships able to fight the Assertors one on one were the few remaining Executor-class ships then in use. When the Imperial Remnant joined the fight against the Yuuzhan Vong they brought with them the last remaining Assertor-class ships and the class proved every bit as deadly as the larger Executors did during the course of the war.
This was a request by b-312 who asked me to expand upon the Assertor-class' wiki.

It should be noted that I took the stats for the Executor and based the Assertor stats off of those since it is mentioned in the wiki that the designs were similar in their design lineage and were introduced at about the same time.

Awesome ship with even more awesome stats! Just one question though: How many Docking Bays & where would they be located?
