So as most who follow me (and some who don't apparently) know I've been working on a Star Wars story based on the Clone Wars which aims to combine aspects of the original animated series, the TV show, and the graphic novels.
This originally started because I had just finished two other massive writing projects and I needed a new one to take my time.
I'd looked at the TV series a bit and while it had some very good points it also felt overly childish for something that is meant to portray the first major war since the end of the Sith Wars and was supposedly raging across the galaxy, laying waste to hundreds of planets.
I resolved to write my own version which was more mature, using both the original cast of characters and several fan-made characters from some of my fellow deviants while staying true to the Star Wars storyline and adjusting only what I felt need be adjusted for the sake of the story. The end result has been ongoing now for a year and a half and I am by no means done.
My intention is to write the full three years of the war, and while I won't be addressing every battle or event that transpires during the war by any stretch, I do intend to carry through to Order 66 and its aftermath with the intent being to summarize the eventual fates of each character that gets focused upon in the course of the series (mostly the fan based characters but also the originals as well).
Quite an audacious undertaking for someone who isn't even that big a fan of the show.
At first the story didn't have much of a following, basically my watchers and that was about it. A year ago I started to include the OCs of more deviants in the story (and will continue to introduce more OCs as the story goes) and as those characters made their appearances the story gained more attention. I never really expected it to go anywhere (and really it still hasn't) or be that very well liked.
However something rather odd started happening and continues to happen (the most recent incident being just a few days ago).
I have been consistently getting messages since this past Fall from other deviants in regards my story and while their words are often different, the message has been the same:
"Your project inspires me."
I find this both humbling and alarming to be honest.
Humbling because many of these deviants have truly inspiring work of their own and their stories are powerful and engaging in their own right. To think that my pet project is inspiring them in their own pursuits is honestly a little surprising but I am glad that it can provide that inspiration to some who read it.
It is alarming because this means that this story is no longer just a pet project, it has fans and it has followers and that means that I've got to deliver on my goal to finish the entirety of the story and faithfully reproduce the characters entrusted into my care by my fellows here on dA.
Wrapping this up feels a bit awkward but suffice to say, I am happy to know that my lark has pleased some of its readers and will continue to deliver chapters and episodes until this story is finished and its characters given their proper finales.
Thank you very much for reading.

Annoyances as a Commissioner
I feel like getting this off my chest because this has happened multiple times now and it almost feels like I need to spell this out at the risk of being highly arrogant. I consider myself to be a fairly decent commissioner. Artists that have worked with me know that I will provide every reference I possibly can and where I am unable to do so I am more than happy to allow artistic leeway and interpretation so that the artist doesn't feel at all restrained by the limitations of my inability to provide said references in those cases. However, if I come to you with a full set of references for characters, scene, and posing, and you can't even be bothered to look at them and just ask me repeatedly which characters and how they should be posed etc...why are you even asking me for references? If you cannot be bothered to click the link I've provided and view the files I have taken the time to gather to try and make this as easy for you as possible, the hell are we communicating for? At

Hades Wing to Empire at War
So I cannot believe this is happening, but one of my fanfiction projects is actually being added into an Empire at War mod. I was contacted by a modder who read my very first Star Wars fanfiction, Hades Wing, and they informed me that they've been working on recreating my cast of ships and characters from Hades Wing in Empire at War. So far they've got Hades Wing's custom TIE bomber design, the TIE/db which they are finishing the modeling of for in game implementation. They wanted to get my permission to included the rest of Hades Wing as minor heroes, with the various squadrons of the wing becoming minor hero units in the game as well as a hero cruiser to represent their command ship. Honestly this is incredible. Out of all my Star Wars stories, this oldest of them, with all its clunky flaws and writing faux pas, is apparently the one to inspire a modder to recreate its cast in one of the most beloved Star Wars games ever. I'm genuinely shocked and honored, and I've asked that
Kaira: Updating a Story
So years ago I wrote something rather silly. In this we see Kahan face off against a newly incumbent Darth Vader some three years after the Clone Wars have ended and it is here that Kahan realizes who Vader is, and subsequently defeats him. At the time I wrote this, it was very much playing off the idea used in one of the older comics where Vader falls victim to Yoda's mind games and my just having fun with Kahan trouncing Anakin. However in all honesty this story needs to be redone, as the idea doesn't make sense for the way I want Kahan and Aira-ty's story to go. Vader can't have a grudge against a powerful Jedi who made a fool out of him and got away with it. So I'll be revisiting this story and I hope everyone will enjoy the results.
